02 Dec Virtual Mission from India with Euroregion biotech companies
Virtual Mission – India
November – December 2020
On November 26th and 27th and December 1st, the Biotech mission between the Euroregion Galicia-North Portugal and India was held under the leadership of the University of Santiago de Compostela. This mission was developed under a virtual approach motivated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This event, framed in Activity 4 of the CTBio project (Access to foreign markets), has involved the participation of 10 start-ups / SMEs in the Euroregion in the field of biotechnology, mainly related to the health sectors and data analysis.
During these 3 days, these companies have had the opportunity to get first-hand knowledge of the different business opportunities for the Biotech sector in India, as well as to meet with a number of relevant actors in this market, such as the pharmaceutical groups PANACEA BIOTEC, AKUMS DRUG & PHARMA and MEDICIS PHARMA, the solutions distributor SYNAPSE MEDICAL , the INDIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, representatives of the Government of India (GITA – Department of Biotechnology ) and of Spain (CDTI), or the KEIRETSU investors’ forum (Chapter New Delhi), with presence in Asia, Europe and America.
In order to deepen the search for collaboration agreements in commercial and/or research matters, individual business meetings have been held between the participating companies in the Euroregion and the Indian counterparts. In the coming weeks, further meetings between the different partners are planned, in order to bring to life future collaborations that can expand the Euroregion’s biotech sector towards such a priority market as India.
