Project
The CTBio Cluster, developed within the framework of the project “CTB – CLUSTER TRANSFRONTERIZO DE BIOTECNOLOGIA. Consolidation, growth and competitiveness of the cross-border biotechnology sector”, co-financed by the cross-border cooperation program INTERREG VA – POCTEP during the years 2017 to 2020, has contributed to the improvement of business competitiveness and the consolidation of the biotech and life sciences sector in the cross-border region through collaboration and cooperation between agents and companies on both sides of the Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal.
The capitalization project “Capitalize CTBio: Towards the consolidation and expansion of the Cross-Border Biotechnology Cluster” seeks to reinforce the positioning of this CTBio Cluster as a reference structure for the business dynamization of the biotech sector in the Euroregion, while increasing its scope of action and laying the foundations for the future creation of the Iberian Cross-Border Biotechnology Pole.
This project gives a new boost to the different knowledge poles of the Euroregion, taking advantage of the experiences and the joint work already implemented during the CTBio project, adapting the actions to this new post-pandemic context, where more agile consultancy methodologies are necessary to reinforce the competitiveness of the biotech fabric, the intersectorial collaboration between the biotech, technological and strategic sector that motivates the appearance of new business initiatives and reinforces the critical mass of the sector both at Euroregional and Iberian level, with the incorporation of new actors of reference of the sector, orienting the efforts towards the future creation of the Iberian Cross-border Biotechnology Pole.
